Plastic Tubing
Plastic tubing of various lengths and bores constructed of materials suitable for general laboratory, biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, medical, vacuum, low-pressure, high-pressure, cleanroom or environmental applications. Products may be chemical- or corrosion-resistant. Formulated for resistance to flex fatigue and abrasion, plastic tubing is more flexible and less permeable than rubber tubing.
How Is Plastic Tubing Used?
Flexible plastic tubing may be used as transfer lines for contamination fluid control, hydraulics, protective jacketing, vacuum pump and diaphragm pump feeds and discharges, refrigeration, water and fluid lines, food and beverage, instrumentation, research laboratories, agriculture, material handling, air and gas lines, chemical lines and pharmaceuticals.
Types of Plastic Tubing:
• PVC: lightweight and flexible, will retain its bore on bending and can be sterilized up to 121°C
• Silicone: ideal where a hard-wearing material is needed, including transfer of liquids or higher temperature environments
• LDPE: good for general low pressure and temperature, instrumentation, corrosive atmosphere, and food processing
• PTFE: has excellent chemical-resistant and temperature-resistant properties
• PE: flexible, lightweight, durable, and corrosion resistant, used for a wide range of liquid, gas, and fluid transfer applications
• FEP: clear, small-diameter tubing, the economical choice for chemical resistance and broad temperature exposure
• PEEK: high-performance polymer with mechanical and chemical resistance, and highly resistant to thermal degradation

Altafluor 480 UHP PFA (Ultra High Purity Perfluoroalkoxy) is the product of choice for applications involving extreme chemical resistance combined with high purity requirements. This tubing is made exclusively from high molecular weight 100% virgin high performance resins to resist stress cracking and provides excellent chemical resistance (even to common fluorosurfactants). It has low permeation and a smooth surface finish. Unlike standard HP PFA tubing products, this tubing has superior flex life values comparable to those of PTFE. FDA approved for food contact and in compliance with FDA regulation 21 CFR 177.1550. Meets requirements of USP Class VI, and is chemically inert to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents, has higher thermal stability than FEP and is translucent in appearance. It is certified to NSF 51, NSF 61 AND NSF 372 and meets or exceeds SEMI F57 AND C-90 requirements for semiconducters. Altafluor 480 UHP PFA is compatible with flare or conventional fittings.

Two-Stop PVC Color-coded Autoanalysis Tubing for Ismatec Pumps is USP Class VI tubing that is Phthalate-free. It has a long pumping life and exhibits a wide range of acid and chemical resistance, thus making it an ideal choice for Pharmaceutical industries. Plasticizer is very tightly bonded into the material, preventing any leaching of component chemicals into the medium being transported, maintaining its sterility. The tubing is transparent, which allows visual observation of tubing contents. It also offers very low gas permeability and can withstand high pressure contents.
Tubing is also called TAAT / microbore and auto analysis.
The overall length of Lab PVC 95663-series stop tubing is 16" (406 mm). The legacy Ismatec stop tubing was 400 mm long.
